All about Sweet Pawer Bakery

Hello, fellow dog mom / dads!

I'm Jessica Seo, founder of Sweet Pawer Bakery.

Before starting this journey, I spent a decade as an interior designer in the heart of

New York City. While it may seem like I made a big leap from designing spaces to baking custom dog cakes and treats, for me, it’s not so different. In both, I get to play with color combinations, textures, shapes, and a sense of completeness.

Starting Sweet Pawer Bakery felt like it was the right time, and while many people encouraged me, there were also concerns. But what I found in this work is an unexpected joy—I now receive so many photos of adorable dogs enjoying the cakes I've made! It makes me happy to imagine owners and their dogs sharing special moments together, with Sweet Pawer cakes as part of the celebration.

Our Story

Like many, COVID brought unexpected changes to my life. With the transition to working remotely,

I moved to New Jersey and, by chance, ended up in a pet-friendly apartment. That’s how Gernie became part of my family—after my aunt passed away in Korea, Gernie was sent to live with me

here in the U.S.

When I first met Gernie, his health was far from ideal. He was overweight and had digestive issues.

I knew I needed to help him get healthier, and that’s when my journey as a dog baker began. Instead of giving him processed dog food, I started feeding him real, nutritious ingredients and adjusted his portions. His digestive system was sensitive, so I tried pumpkin puree to improve his stool, but he didn’t like the taste. That’s when I started baking treats with pumpkin puree as the main ingredient.

Now, with balanced meals and a few homemade treats each day, Gernie’s digestive health has improved significantly, and he’s in much better shape. This experience inspired me to create healthier, homemade dog treats that I’m excited to share with others!

Our Mission

My passion for helping dogs live healthy, happy lives inspired me to create wholesome, beautiful treats. I’ve always been drawn to the idea of making a difference, especially for rescue dogs.

I believe that by running my own business, I can play a part in supporting their well-being

in the long run.

That's how "Wag It Forward" became my long-term mission. I want the love people have for their own dogs to extend to shelter dogs in need. Through the treats I create at Sweet Pawer Bakery,

I hope to spread that love and care. That’s why I chose the name “Sweet Pawer Bakery”—

because my goal is to empower dog lovers and help them make a difference, one treat at a time.
